Um sich wohl ausdrücklich gegen die Vereinnahmung durch die Republikaner zu wehren war Mandy am Samstag bei der Veranstaltung "Rally the youth vote for John Kerry and John Edwards" neben anderen Promis, wie z.B. Kirsten Dunst, Ashlee Simpson oder den Black Eyed Peas, im Avalon Hollywood anwesend.
